Rear hatch lock failure

So this happened today. Not my video but mine did the exact same thing.

Cause...broken plastic worm gear in the locking mechanism.



Got a new lock at the dealer for $85. Was actually cheaper than online unless you get it from china but I am not leaving the trunk unlatched for 3 weeks to save $50.

Simple to install but you need an 8mm triple square. Just remove the back panel, 2 triple square bolts, unplug and remove. Reverse to install.

Might be helpful:

2x T20 screws in the hatch handles will release the trim further out.

Pull out the trim to get to the tail lights to get a better view of reinstalling the trim.
