Headlight switch yellow wire, is it needed?

I have a new headlight switch with the auto sensor and I’m missing the yellow wire. Do I really need it?

The yellow wire is for the rear fog. If you do not have rear fog I would think it unnecessary.

Thanks. Glad to hear that. I actually do have a rear fog light. I can always add the wire later.
