Bluetooth audio can be controlled from the device or via voice command only.

Are we absolutely certain of this? I have been looking around for more info on this exact issue and some people have said that it is a function of the music application that is playing the song and whether it takes advantage of the full A2DP bluetooth functionality. I've never been able to get it to work myself but just wanted to ask.

plug it into the MDI cable if you want the steering wheel controls to work.

yeah i was kind of upset about the BT Audio when i had my old Droid phone because i couldn't connect it to my MDI and i was streaming a lot of music on Pandora for a while so i constantly had to have my phone on my lap to change songs.

now i have an iphone so i can use my MDI but not with Pandora. oh well, at least i ave my sirius xm subscription back so it's not really an issue anymore.

Sound quality when using the MDI is horrible.

A couple things

You can get different MDI cables, you don't have to have an iphone/ipod.

You can play any audio (you tube, games, moves, music, ect...) through the bluetooth but you can't control it except from the device.

The MDI quality does suck..... until you have the software updated to level 240 and turn the input level down to minimum.

Is there a specific way to verify your software revision? I had that TSB performed for the firmware update to fix the skipping less than 6 months ago. It was the second one done and it was the one that actually worked. This was an MDI update. I didn't notice an audio quality change, or maybe just wasn't listening for it.
