Items covered under PZEV Warranty

Ready to race!
Hi all - I thought it would be a good idea to put together a list of items covered under PZEV warranty.

I was recently told that the timing cover oil leak is covered which was a surprise to myself.

Let us compile a list and I will update the OP.

Injectors meaning if my injector was stuck open - VW should have covered that?

I was turned away from dealer at 121k (extended warranty covered until 120k)

Was I misinformed about the oil leak?

Im thinking a post on Facebook mk6 group will get some more responses as well!

Was posting to see if anyone had any knowledge that could help my situation. Had a stud break on the exhaust manifold and am looking to make a claim through pzev because my car has 90k miles on it. I went to the dealership and they said they aren't sure because the part that is listed under warranty is the exhaust manifold itself and not the stud. While I am quite of aware of how petty these dealerships can be, does anyone know if the stud could possibly be considered as part of the exhaust manifold?

Ask the dealer....it's their call, not ours

Btw....the stud broke on it's own, and you just happened to be looking under there & found it?

Where is this master list pulled from guys? Are these numbers the codes found when the item fails?

Is the fuel filler cap 2005 the gas cap? I assume so but not sure.

The dealer is claiming a defective gas cap is not covered, nor is the faulty sensor measuring coolant in the top of the radiator requiring full replacement covered either. Note: this is out of CA currently so they may be less familiar.

So if I have a 2011 GTi with 68500 miles that is showing low coolant levels, should I tip it off and bring it to the dealer without worrying that the issue will not be covered? They love to charge that $135 diagnostic, so trying to avoid that if there is a possibility that this emissions warranty wouldn’t cover it.

Thanks

Damn, I just crossed the 150,000 mark and my check engine light came on.

I went to Autozone to get the code checked and it came up as P2187 System Too Lean at Idle Bank 1 and they are saying that this is a common issue with my car and it should be linked to a failing Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.

Is this part of the covered list? Just finding this list so I have not completely read up on it so I am wondering if I have any chance of getting this replaced for free.

It's probably a bad pcv valve. If your over miles your sol.

From what I've read aftermarket PCV valves don't last as long as the oem ones. I'll be replacing mine after a few more miles as a preventative meassure.

My car is a PZEV. The dealer did an APR flash when I bought it off my lease, and they have honored any warranty issues to date. Well not really, they charged me for spark plugs and coils which should have been covered under the warranty, and I’m trying to get that back. When they flashed the ecm, they did it by cracking the box open. Now the fans run after turning the car off, which is a sign of ecm failure. I took the car to the dealer and after 4 days they said it was the fans that were the issue. I told them that I had it deviously checked and it wasn’t the fans, but they changed them anyway and figured out that it was the ecm. Now they want t charge me from r the fans they replaced, saying that supposedly they were bad, and won’t cover the ecm because it was cracked open and if sent back to VW it would void the warranty. Forget the fact that last week they told me that the fans would cost $720, and today they said they made a mistake and they are actually $1,100. I was like “why wouldn’t you call me to let me know of the mistake before doing the job?” I asked them for a credit for the $550 I spent for the coils even though they should have been covered, and also told them that I would only pay $720 b cause that’s what I was quoted, even though I shouldn’t pay anything as the fans were never the issue, just a misdiagnosis by them. They will get back to me n Monday with a decision, but I doubt they do anything. I’m probably going to have to buy a used ECM that has never been flashed.

My code is 1K0907115AQ in case anyone can help. And if I get one, do the miles matter? I’ve seen one come off a car that had 134k miles. My car has 69k.

Thanks for your help
