40k DSG TDI service ?

KaiSTrikes_MKVI

Ready to race!
I live in San Francisco, which dealership in the Bay Area
is the best place to take my vehicle for 40K (DSG)
service ? I was going to trade my vehicle in but now
I chosen to stick it out with my TDI.

I can go back Serramonte VW ? Royal VW in SF , drive to hayward WinnVw ,
I am just trying to save a buck since DSG services prices vary.

Who here in the Bay Area did the DSG service , why dealership?
and how much did they charge you at 40k ?

Sorry can't really help you here.. I am at 15k but let me know what price you'll get. I can tell you that Winn is expensive... but that's about it.

report back on how much they will want to rape you on.

I know the self service is about $150.

I just got an email back, so scary 40K service alone was 677,
and DSG is 450 so now I am much more motivated in trading
in my golf tdi.

Actually dropped my car off last night to get done this morning. My estimate was $450 total.

Don't you have any good VW aftermarket shops around there? Dealers out here are around $400ish for the service as well; but the VW shops (like NGP racing) charge about $289. Still not cheap but a lot better, especially after you figure the supplies alone come in at about $150-$160.

If you don't do the work yourself you may want to consider that.

The 40k is nothing but a fuel filter ($30), cabin filter ($20), air filter ($20), and oil change ($50)

The DSG part is in fact pricy ... but in line with what others are paying. Just 1 dealer? Which ones did you email?

I emailed Royal VW in San Francisco ,
Right now I am just waiting till my "OTHER" car come in
so I can seriously ponder my future with the TDI.

Well the other car in tax alone will cost more than 4 40k services, so I am not sure what there is to wonder about.

check with hayward, dublin, and winn.

Some members here have gotten DSG services for under $200. But that was in other states.

Ask them for just the DSG service, don't buy the bundle 40k services, that is how they fleece you.

Find a good indy VW shop.

Hopefully the DSG service doesn't cause you a trade in. I thought the same thing until I found the how to on this topic. Did the 40k service with DSG for $225 or so. A component mech can do it. Good luck.

I am currently on a tipping point,
I can either get a new car ( BRZ ) or
keep the TDI and have it serviced at an independent shop except for DSG service

If I keep the car I will do cabin air filter and air box myself, and have
an Indy shop do the oil change on my behalf ... but are there Indy shops out
there that can do DSG service ? ? ?

blows my mind people will just bend over and pay these kind of rates for a glamorized oil change. wow.

40k service is oil change...don't fall for it. Dsg service is pricey but shop around.

seriously, pay $75 or so in parts and do the oil change/filter/air filter etc. thing yourself and find an indie VW/Audi place to do the DSG service.

Post on the local forums; I can guarantee you there are indy shops in San Fran that can do a DSG, I just don't know where they are... ;)
