EPC light comes on then off

On my 2012 gti sometimes when I’m trying and downshift to second at Low speeds my EPC light comes on for a second then turns off and the car has trouble accelerating. Anyone know what the cause for this is?

Really only option is to scan for faults since the EPC can be triggered by a bunch of different issues

Ok I’ll prob have the dealer look at it when I take it in for 100k service.

The two most common reasons epc light comes on in mk6 cars is a bad brake switch or throttle body. Both can cause acceleration issues as well.

Apparently it was a stretched timing chain. :C
