Golf mk6 TDI 1.6 bluemotion General Maintenance

Hi everyone,

So I have a MK6 Golf manual 1.6 TDI bluemotion 105 ps model.

I mainly do motorway driving between 15-20k miles a year.

Currently I have 100k miles on the clock.

Since taking the car used at 36k miles, I have serviced as per VW guide and other major works are:

65k miles - New clutch, but kept old DMF which was still ok according to specialist

90k miles - new waterpump, cambelt and tensioner kit etc
95k miles - new brake discs and pads all round

Currently I think the rear wheel bearings might be going as I get some squeaking noises from the rear wheels but not always present so not sure...

As I plan to keep the car for sometime to come, can anyone recommend any works or things I should change / replace to new that will prolong the car to 150-200k miles etc?

What is next to fail or will likely need work? shock absorbers? gearbox?

Thank you

Gotcha. Wheel bearings usually roar not squeak. Other than replacing transmission oil I think you have covered all the bases already.
