Perhaps I'm alone in just discovering this but on a recent trip to Whidbey island I discovered that my MK6 GTI qualifies for a 20% discount on the ferry for being less than 14' long. Qualifies by about 2.1 inches.
On the way to the island the fellow in the tollbooth informed me. On the way from Coupeville to Port Townsend (and back) I simply mentioned it. If you're doing much travel among the islands, including the San Juans, it can add up.
PS. The MK7 looks like it won't make the cut. According to specs it's 14.0025 ft long.
PPS. If you're an aging boomer like me, the senior discount can be added, as well. Altogether about a 40% discount, I believe.
