OE GTI springs on 2.5 Golf?

I have a set of 5k mile 2DR/6MT GTI springs from my 2010 GTI sitting in storage, the car is long gone. The girlfriend has a 2011 2DR/5MT Golf 2.5 sitting sky-high.

I get that if I wanted to spend money the DG springs would be my choice but how about these free GTI springs? I would keep the stock 36k mile shocks/struts (I assume they live a decent while)?

Don't care about sitting that low, don't care about Nurburgring times, just want to lower it to around stock GTI height and still have it ride OK. it's just the stock springs are so high it's like an Allroad.

won't make any difference. The strut needs to be changed as well.

It should work but, I would honestly change the struts and shocks with it. Just to make sure you don't get a crappy ride because the golf ones are a little softer.
