My understanding is that the bracket is not cross compatible. Meaning your BBK selection would only be those made for the Passat bracket. Which is far fewer than the GTI.

Can confirm that the bracket for my brembo BBK fits both the B6 Passat/MK5 aluminum spindle even though the kit specifies MK6. The mounting holes are identical, you just need the longer caliper bolts when going to the MK5 spindle.
Heres my VisRacing KS Style carbon vented hood. About the least ricey hood i can find with vents. Im not sure how much it weighs tho. View attachment 58278
