10,000 miles?

I just got my new 2012 Golf 2.5 last week, and according to the maintenance supplement of the owner's manual, my first service is at . . . 10,000 miles? And I wait until then for my first oil change? That doesn't sound right!

why not? I change my oil every 30,000 km and I have no issues - 103,003 km and going strong. But there's a very lengthy oil change thread here, search for it or else this will turn into a flame war quickly.

10K or 1 year, whichever comes first. As stated, search, this has been discussed many times

Actually you should have a 6 month, 6,000 mile checkup. They wont change your oil because this will be done at 10,000 miles. The synthetic they put in allows for longer oil changes. Some people here claim that they change it at 5K regardless.

I have mine scheduled for Dec. 15th or so.
