A few small updates:
VW says there is no way they caused the damage to my steering wheel. I can't of course prove they did it either so I'm stuck with the repair costs myself.

Today I ordered a double apex garage door opener

On the tuning front, I'm beyond my capabilities and leaving it solely in the hands of my mentor and just working to understand what changes he has made. Expecting to see a high boost file by the end of the week.

Tesla seems to have a lot of hype about their performance, behind one in traffic yesterday I say to my wife, "I'd like to have one of those"
my wife "so go get one..."
me "don't toy with my emotions!"
my wife "seriously if you want one lets look into it."

So we did, I test drove the Model S 70D well actually I drove a P90D (w/o ludicrous mode) in the 70D output mode. Its a really phenomenal car IMO but my @$$ dyno says my GTI will smoke it and with the options I want it came in at a "super affordable" $89,500

So considering I need to pay off my wife's Volvo and then sell the GTI to get into a $90k car that won't out perform my $30k car in anything other than gas expense I believe this build thread will live on. Now if we can trade the Volvo for the Tesla I may have to figure a way out to get one, but right now my thought is I want to find a P85D early next year if I buy one... Still a lot of research to do about the cost and failure percentages of key components. It is really cool that the only maintenance items are wiper blades, tires, & brake pads/rotors.

Sorry for the derailment of my standard updates in tuning progress/complications but that's what's on my mind tonight while I'm waiting for my next file :-D

Thanks Andy! I feel like Eurodyne has a lot to offer but people need to know what goes into it sometimes what you need is easily accessible other times it takes some drive to find it. Thanks to you and what you do and to FriggenT for digging through the message boards till the two of you connected this is all possible!

mikejsmith1985: 2012 GTI Autobahn

Got the garage door kit from Double Apex installed yesterday and woke up to a new file from Andy. Unfortunately when I went to get logs there was traffic, cops were everywhere, and the logs I got weren't ideal. However the logs I did get looked great and the car is an absolute monster right now. We're still on stock fueling and we're running 30% e85. I'm looking to buy a new car next year (no plans to get rid of the GTI) so I've started looking and driving to see what I like. Today I got behind the wheel of a 2014 CTS-V wagon. It's very nice and very fast but it did not pin me in the seat the way the GTI does. Clearly I didn't beat on the car too hard but 80% throttle in the GTI feels faster than 80% throttle in the V. Andy has done a great job with the tune as has Doug with the turbo

Went to Water By The Bridge Car show last weekend the weather kind of sucked but it was still a good time. No Dyno there so Looks like numbers for my current tune on 30% e85 is still pending.

I did decide to order a set of Depo LED tail though, anyone have an opinion on color for my car or thoughts on if I should get the rear fog or not?

Only turn off to me about the rear fog option is having one white and one red reverse light...

So I reached out to OnePerfectDose and came to a decision. I went with the Dark Cherry No Fog option, and a set of sequential LED mirror signals with puddle light and smoked lens. First time I've spent any real amount of money on something that doesn't affect performance. I'm pretty excited but I do think to myself... I could have had new injectors LOL
