Regardless of year, those are two different engines!
Is the “new” one a mk7 engine? If so I’m sure it’s been discussed before on here, I think the conclusion was that it would be a lot of work to pair it with the other parts of the car, such as the ecu.

If you wanna match this to a MK6, it's going to require a customized tune for the ECU to accept the new powerband, and engine performance parameters.

At least I think they were. I recall them being inside the showroom when I went to pay off my car, and I'm pretty sure it was late 2013.
