Should I remove rear brake dust shields?

I have a track event next week at Club Motorsports... yay! I was just putting on new pads and fluid and thought....hmmmm... should I take off the rear brake dust shields also? I had already taken the front off.

I am running:
Hawk HP+ front (removed brake dust shields)
Hawk HPS rear
Castrol SRF brake fluid

I was also thinking of putting reflective gold heat wrap on any hoses or electrical plugs that may now be exposed due to the removal of the brake dust shields... but upon inspection, really? It seems like overkill? I'm not seeing how they could be damaged. But will those with experience please tell me otherwise?

im doing my rear brakes in a week or two and plan to remove them because they cut my hand every time i am washing the car and try to clean the wheel barrels lol

they are behind the hubs though so unless you plan to remove the hubs... which i highly doubt you are... you need to unbolt them and then cut out a section to remove them. so be prepared with a dremel or some cutting tool.
