New GTI Owner - I Feel I've Come Full Circle. How many cars have you owned?

Hey guys, I just recently bought a 2013 GTI and I have been enjoying driving and modifying it. It is a far cry for the '76 Rabbit I had in High School. Although that was a great car in it's time. Impressive list of rides. Ultra cool racing stripes on the MkI. Love the era mods, especially that Kamei front air dam. Brings back memories, my dad had a blue 4dr MkI in the early 80's and he put a Kamei on it too. The air dam became a snowplow in the Canadian winters.

Kudos on the retro snowflake rims on the MkVI. Looks fantastic. Nice change from the standard VMR's, BBS clones, etc. Nicely done.

Wow. So awesome and congrats! Absolutely cool photo of the MK1 too. This (MKVI) GTI really puts a smile on my face (albeit Stage 1)...even more so than some cars I've owned that cost > 2x as much. It's my sleeper daily-commuter now that I'm a boring 40-something...

I too have come back to a mk6 and am currently enjoying it quite a bit. I feel a little out of place modding a mk6 as a 40 year old dude, but I can't shake the bug. My wife gets annoyed, but the kids like it.

Thanks, I've already done a bunch of cosmetics and a few performance mods. Snowflakes, Eibach Pro springs, Godspeed cooler, steel charge pipes, Carbonio Stage 2, P3 gauge, Dr side cubby, wiper delete, LED interior - license - reverse lamps, 3" downpipe, 2.5" catback...prob some small stuff I'm missing.

Thanks, the hair and mods fit the year. That pic was probably 1986 or 1987.

I'm about to turn 45. The modding bug has yet to die off. I doubt I'll ever drive a plain ordinary car.
