I like shopdap. They have reward points and by the time I bought my kit, I had enough points to pay for a new dsg filter I cracked when reinstalling my transmission

This is all you need imho. Your oil pump chain is fine and doesn't need timing. The balancer shafts are prolly fine too. You might want new engine mount bolts as those are stretch bolts but that's up to you. Also the kit you linked has a balancer shaft tensioner... I wouldn't worry about that either

You'll need some special tools too but that's about it. Shopdap has a cheap crack hold tool is the only specialty too you'll need imo. The sprocket holder tool (the plastic spacer) isn't needed. Use a nut larger than the crank bolt and you've saved yourself money.

Good luck

Wow... thanks for the link

FCPEuro has a lifetime warranty on all their parts, even the wear and tear ones. If you plan on keeping the car long enough where you'll need to do this again then you can just send the old parts back and get the new ones fully refunded

And looks like it's the new style gain too..

So... I can return parts for wear and tear? Wow... solid deal

I was able to find OEM parts on ebay cheaper than most other places. Make sure its legit and not one of the chinese pieces listed as OEM. Lots of VW dealers selling stuff on ebay. I pieced together my own kit. I used a variety of sources though. It helps to go to google shopping search the piece you need by part number then sort it low to high.

If you're looking for a full kit for MK6 2.0 TSI I've assembled one. I purchased it prior to learning about the extension of warranty to 10 yrs/ 100K miles. I figure there is no point in storing these parts in the closet until I hit end of warranty so I'm trying to sell them. I've included a serpentine belt because I figure it's a good idea to replace while I'm in there....and the lower timing chain cover for production dates PRIOR to 12/12/2011. If you don't want the cover but want the rest I'm willing to exclude it. All parts are Genuine VW OEM:

With cover total kit price is: $640
Without cover kit price is: $440

I'll include shipping. Let me know if interested.

Here is a line item list of all the parts included +/- the lower timing chain cover depending on if you want it or not.
