No cover on rear shocks

Korydogg

Ready to race!
So, a few weeks ago I was installing Koni yellows on my car. On the rear I couldn't get the oem cylinder shock cover to work with the new bumbstops and decided to just leave it off. However, after driving around like this for awhile I'v grown worried that this is going to cause issues later on like a leak at the seal or something.

Now that I wrote that out I think maybe its hard to understand what I'm talking about. Ill try and get a pic posted to explain better.

I'm talking about the plastic cylinder piece that protects the shock shaft area from debris. Like I said I couldn't get it to work with the new bump stops and Koni didn't provide anything with the kit.

Anyone run into this same issue?

What bump stops are you using? :iono:

Yes you should use the cover.
Reuse the OEM bump stops instead & those will hold the cover up.
You can trim the lower part of that bump stop (the little nub under the cover), OR buy some shorter OEM ones

Your OEM ones "should" be 133mm in length, part number: 1K0511353M (check the part number or measure them)
There were optional ones that were 118mm in length though: 1K0511353N

Cheap, for example:
