For street or track?

For street, I'd go with the 5.0 Mustang GT. You can find them pretty easily under $30k. 420 hp, 12 second 1/4 mile, lusty V8 soundtrack.

For track, I'd go with the FR-S or BRZ. Incredible balance and feedback at the limit, great seats/seating position, slick 6 speed, well under $30k.

Honorable mention to the Fiesta ST for best value. You can find them under $20k, which is great value for such a fun, yet practical hatch.

You can buy a 2014 mustang gt for well under $30k...they are liquidating them now.

GTI. I'd do it again for comfort and performance reasons mainly. Also some really great options available on the new one. You could totally do a performance pack GTI for under 30K. THAT is a great option.

Also its nearly the quickest in 1/4. Not bad at all. And we all know what stage 1 does already.

2nd place would be WRX for me. then the cooper.
