Hi Guys,

I need help please:confused:.

I am trying to locate a DIY in order to change my DPF's differential pressure sensor, however I am unable to locate one.

The Engine Management Light is currently on in my 2010 Golf Match 1.6 TDI 105ps CAYC, with the Glow Plug/Coil light flashing randomly. It sometimes comes on as soon as I start the car, and other times it may not come on at all.

I have done a scan with my VCDS and it has come up with the following errors relating to the DPF:

I have found the instructions on what to check from VCDS, and I was able to get a glimpse of the schematics diagram that shows up on VW's computers when ordering parts, however that was about as much help as the robot who was working behind the computer (I asked him how much G12++ I needed for my coolant and his answer was "I don't know" - ffs).

So please - I have the sensor (well at least it has been ordered anyway) and tools, but just need to know exactly where it is and how much work is roughly required to swap them over.

The below is similar to what I saw on VW's computer, and can confirm that the part is similar to that underneath the part numbered 1. I just need to know where that is?:iono:

Many thanks for your help in advance

Don't worry everyone

I managed to locate it.

Completely blind and blonde moment (no offense)

For those of you who this may help, I have a Golf MK6 1.6 TDi 105ps. Engine CAYC.

I had the engine management light show up and stay on.

For those who don't know it is this symbol:

I also had this light come up:

I scanned it with my VCDS and it came up with the following errors:

Turns out the sensor was faulty. The differential pressure sensor in my car was part number 059 906 051 C.

Trip to the dealer and obtained a new sensor, part number 076 906 051 B. Was £64 and some change inc. VAT.

Swapping of the parts was pretty simple.

T30 torx on a socket as the space is quite tight to get a straight turn with a screwdriver. Undo the bolt for the metal mount that keeps the 2 hoses in place and the one bolt for the sensor itself.

You will also need some grips or something to get the hoses off of the sensor.

One thing to mention - I did not realise that the bolt from my original sensor was too short for the new sensor as the housings had changed slightly and are thicker where the bolt goes. This meant that the bolt did not reach the thread to tighten so I had to improvise and luckily found a bolt the exact same thread pattern, only longer.

After swapping, I hooked it up to VCDS and carried out the adaptation by selecting 01 - Engine, Security access and entering the code that pops up for the adaption.

Everything is all good now.

I have pics of the location if anyone needs help finding it. The sensor is tiny and to the untrained eye, might take a moment to find.

Hello,
I think I have the same problem as you had........ could you elaborate on carrying out the adaptation with the vcds please...?

Did you ever get this sorted? I didn't realise i had these replies until I just logged in? Apologies.

I can't remember off the top of my head but if you PM me the list of adaptations I am sure I can help.
