*Concerning News about APR Flash* Need to get this cleared up.

Long story made short i heard from a very reliable source that APR reflash is a complete overwrite of your ecu with APR softwares?

Thus meaning that once you flash the ecu with APRs software. No other device can read the car. Eg: VW dealers, anyone with the VAGCOM thing.

Can someone please clear this up?

thanks

Kevin

Come on dude, if you read a little bit or even search APR stage 1 topics you'll find that you can put it back on stock mode and lock it so if the dealer scans the ecu, they'll find no trace of the modification, so yes, they can read the ecu without a problem, also there's some more topics about a guy running vagcom on his stage 1 mk6 to trace his boost levels.

Not true. APR's flash is not intrusive and is undetectable.
VW's dealers will still be able to do their stuff just like on a stock car. The APR software is encrypted though so that their code cannot be read and duplicated if accessed. So do not hook up an APR tuned car to a laptop and expect to unlock its secrets.

You get to keep your "Stock" programing as well as having your APR 91 , 93 , 100+ tunes on the ecu. You will be able to connect and read the ecu just like normal whether you're at the dealer or in your buddies driveway with vag-com.

i heard from a reliable source that APR software discolors your rear bumper and makes the air in your tires go bad.

Is that the best that Austriallia's APR competition can come up with? No wonder Guy's APR sales are so high in Australia! International Distributor of the Year.

I actually heard that if I wanted to switch from APR to a GIAC tune or other tunes... Having APR doesn't allow thus unless you pay the dealer to wipe and reflash the ecu first prior to loading other software.
