Brake CEL and brake fluid levels

Hey guys,

I have a question. Yesterday, I got a loud beep from the dash for <2 sec. It quickly said "Brake Fluid, check owners manual" Then immediately went away. Today I scanned it with my VCDS and no error codes were present for this. Also, the beep didn't happen again.

I checked the fluid level and it seems kinda low. Also, my pad sensor has not gone off and there is still pad left (about 1/4 or so).

So, should I:
a) forget about it, and just wait until spring and change my pads
b) top up the fluid, and if so what type? (http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-Motul-RBF600-Synthetic-DOT-4-Brake-Fluid-/171134046986)
c) other? (could this be a glitch?)

For reference, my car is stock (apart from vcds changes), zero history of anything (except putting smiles on my face ). And I just changed to winter tires the same day.

Here is a link to the brake pressure log:

And the vcds scan:

The members of this forum seem to be very knowledgeable about their VW's :).
Thanks for any input!

Yes a) and wait until the light comes on to change pads
Yes b) DOT4
Yes c) could be a glitch

Thanks atikovi! I'll wait for the light to change the pads (it's hard to see how much is left on the inside, but outside looks like there is a decent amount left).
And I will get some DOT4
