Help! Steering wheel not coming off!

So I'm changing out my steering wheel with one with buttons. For some reason I can not take off the airbags [emoji58] I have tried and tried and nothing. I looked at many tutorials but still can't figure out why it's not coming off. Any guidance is appreciated.

There are two tabs behind the steering wheels on both sides you have to pry apart with a screw driver to get the airbag off. Here's one done on a POLO

Yea guys I googled it but the problem is when I push the tabs down the airbag does not pop out even pulling on it when I push down on tabs.

Gotta put some muscle into it. I struggled with it at first too. Then I used my iPhones front facing camera to really see what I was doing and that made it easier.
