WARNING OIL PRESSURE CHECK OWNERS MANUAL AND SHUT OFF ENGINE

Hi Everyone, this recently showed up while I was driving. It comes and goes, so I took it for an oil change and it was half a quart low. Picked up the car after the oil change and the OIL Pressure Warning showed up again. Any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

Bad oil pump, bad sensor, clogged pickup tube.

Best thing to do is NOT drive the car and have it checked out.

Thanks guys. I guess I have to bring it in for diagnostic testing. I drove it today and there was no warning. Also checked the oil and it’s still on max level, so no leak.

Doesn't mean the pump isn't done.

Just went to the dealer. Nothing came up in the scan, and the warning didn’t pop up again. It had not popped up in 5 days but I had an appointment so I brought it in. The dealer said it’s probably a switch issue. They won’t charge me for diagnostics if I bring it in again for the same issue, so that’s good. I will keep you guys posted.

Last time this happened to me, a bearing slipped and I ended up with a new long block. Hope you've got an extended warranty.

Warranty is done. Have had the car for almost 8 years. Only emissions warranty now.

It’s probably the sensor.

Idk about the senor, its an easy replacement so I would do it but I also had bearing slippage and this was that message was the first sign
