Those cars are actually an expensive swiss army knife of cars, so they are more than just badge whoring. It can be fast, It can take some off-roading, classy looking IMO, body on frame SUV's and better visibility due to thin pillars, just like the wrangler. I rented a wrangler in cancun and they feel like being in a convertible somehow even with the top up. The same goes for the merc.

If it's for one car, i'd likely take the current M5 (whether DCT or Manual). throw 5% tint, exhaust, "move over" or some sort vanity plate etc.

2 car, challenger hellcat or Camaro ZL1 and SVT Raptor or Chevy Colorado ZR2 that is on the horizon.
OR
BMW X5 M for a daily and 370z Nismo or e92 m3 (throw ESS supercharger, exhaust, 5% tint's, some drop, maintenance etc.) or e39 m5 (throw rest on vanos maintenance) or 996 911 c2 (change final drive, short shifter, H&R clubsport coilovers, exhaust)

OR import an RS6 Avant.

The smart move is to buy some old sports car that I could drive and might actually go up in value. Truthfully a new GTR and maybe a Shelby cobra replica.

Toyota Prius and a Nissan r35 gtr

For one single car, I would choose 2016 rs7 or 2016 rs5
