Good bang for the buck intake?

I'm looking for an intake for my GTI mk6, I want something that will fit without any modification. A good price/performance ratio and I need a filter that I can either wash or find a replacement easily.

I live in Canada, what do you suggest?

I can make a carbon fiber canister style intake with cone dry filter for $100. beats the hell out of anything North of that and performs about the same.

You can even go balls deep and price out a good coupler and filter and make it even cheaper than that.

The APR Intake is only $300 from ECS.

That thing from Modshack is $250. Doesn't seem worth the $50 in savings. Do it right or not at all is my philosophy.
