Armrest dilemma

Just bought a cherry 2011 Golf 2-Door – and I couldn't be happier.

I'd like to add an armrest for the console but the dealer wants $335. eBay has just the leather cover from China for $84.29. shipping included (http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Black-L...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a9090c4b1&vxp=mtr)

So here are my questions:
Does anyone have experience with this part?
Can I trust it to fit my stock console box?
Is installation something a non-gearhead can handle?

Send a PM to xHeartcoreboyx. He installed one in his car some time ago and we were in contact during the process, and you're gonna need a lot more than just the arm rest, you'll need the whole unit.

Thanks for the advice, TDR, I sent him a PM. Is this a mod you did to your car? Doesn't the armrest cover fit on the stock console box, or do you replace the stock box, too?

No I didn't install one, since my car came with one already, we just happened to talk about the same subject and worked out what parts were needed.
