k04 upgrade stock tune

Hello. Im looking into getting the k04 upgrade. And I was wondering if I can buy the turbo amd all that and instalk it myself to save money and drive maybe an hour at most to get the correct tune! Or should I get stage 2 + first then do the turbo? I cant find much about this. And if it is possible will I be in limp mode or destory anything? !!

:confused: I'm guessing you drive a gti

I drove my car for about 2 weeks with stage 2 software after I got my k04 installed. No problems at all, just don't floor it and you'll be fine.

Called apr..no answer

Called unitronic answer right away! They said you can drive with k04 on bone stock tune. Just dont go under boost

you can drive a ko4 without the tune, just take it easy with the throttle. allot of us have done the install ourselves and then get the tune when we get around to it.
