MKVI Rattle / Whistling ~2300-3000 RPM

I noticed tonight on the way home that I have a whistling noise coming from the engine bay near the glove box. I googled around a bit and found a thread on vwwatercooled; it seems to be quite common in the MKVI's ...

It is very noticeable around 2300-300 RPM under moderate acceleration. Sauce below...

Picked up the car on Tuesday and only 186 mi on the odo

Anyone else having this issue?

Yes I have it except it is a wide open throttle issue, almost sounds like a screeching sound. I've heard some say it is the wastegate push rod. I would like to find out for sure though.

Ok, listening to your video, my sound is nothing like yours, totally differant sound. Sounds like the diverter valve venting back into the intake to me. That rpm is about where the boost starts building. ECU is venting off the pressure that is in excess of what is called for. Sounds totally normal to me. But I have a stick so a dsg owner would probably have a better say on this.

I thinks its the "noise box" or "noise tube" that you are hearing.

Google that and that is probably what your hearing. I took my car for a spin and heard that noise also - I have MK6 DSG also.
