What is really considered stage 3?

So, K04 is stage 2+
then you got the hybrids like the f23t
and then the stage 3 crazy big turbos

Is stage 3 based on the hp made?

would hybrid turbos, like the f23t, be considered stage 3?

F23 is a hybrid k04 if am not mistaken. That won’t be a stage 3 . Stage 3 would be more of a bigger turbo , external fuel /wmi ect

I wouldnt get so caught up in the Stages. They are arbitrary and used for marketing of various companies tunes and turbo kits. They dont always mean the same thing either. Revo calls their K04 kit a stage 3 and and APR calls their BT kit a Stage 3.

An aftermarket turbo, non OEM based, ex. Garrett 2867 or bigger

I rock an app stage2+ bage on my k04 car for scene point haha. I wasn't sure either. Just marketing I guess
