Ready to race!
Ive spent the better part of the day wiring this up.
I tried using this article as a guide
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec156.shtml
Sadly, the AudiWorld diagrams do NOT apply to the GTI parking assist switch. However, through tons of trial and error, ive been able to correctly pin the 12v/ground for both red and yellow LED's. This allows the button to illuminate with the other interior LED's and flash yellow when im hit with radar. Where im stuck on is the mute.
According to the diagram on Audiworld, the mute is the yellow wire and simply needs to connect to a single pin. I only have 2 pins left...
As you can see, pins 4 and 5 correspond to the yellow circles. These must be activators for the push button. Ive tried connecting the yellow mute wire to each of these pins individually as well as both together. Ive also tried putting ground to one pin and the yellow to the other and nothing works.
Does anyone know what happens inside the Escort mute switch that causes it to mute? Is it completing a ground or is there current supplied? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
