With DP and no tune, there IS a noticeable difference on the top end in terms of power. (I have tested different setups, speaking from experience)

I've tracked my car just as many times as you and drive pedal to the metal quite often. My car is at stg. 2 and it's so enjoyable to drive. The car is so much more responsive and gets better gas mileage after the tune!
