Not really I think cause the 2.0 TSI in the MK6 GTI is a whole different engine then that of the Golf R

no, the r20 uses a different engine than the mk6. AWE is supposed to be working on a TSI K04 kit, but details are being kept pretty secret from what I can find. Others here will know more about the difference between the r20 engine and the tsi. But I know for certain it is not a direct swap. I think there is another thread on here somewhere that deals with this.

The Golf R uses an EA113 2.0T - like Mk5 GTI. The Mk6 GTI is based on the new EA888 platform. The newer motor has upgraded pistons, rings, new oil/fuel/vacuum pumps, a new MAF and is chain-driven. It's more fuel efficient, has lower emissions and a lower compression ratio.

It's probably possible to swap turbos, but not straightforward. Wait for AWE's K04.

Wow, didn't know the R20 used the EA113. Although the R20 isn't available in the US yet, I can stop crying over it. :) Viva La EA888!!!
