Integrated Engineering's IE450T kit

Any updated news on these kits?

We are very close to releasing the MK6 Golf R kit, just finishing up all the little final parts now and getting everything in stock. Our engineers have already started working on the hardware changes needed for the TSI cars and are working to have it drop as close to the final release as possible.

they cancelled it. 450 was too much and cars were blowing up.

What? This is in no way true.

Everyone is working on gen 3 and IE is still trying to figure out sw and they probably never really will.. By the time they realise that they better stick to hw who ever is ready to spend $6000 on a turbo kit will already be driving a mk7 or an s3.

We are working on Gen 3 software as well, TSI EA888 software is not at all an issue, I'm not sure where that concern even came from. For all those owners that are not trading in the car for a MK7, our kit will be a massive amount of fun.

Really? Please share, I was interested in this kit.

Not sure why they still list the kit on their main page and have comments like below as late as 12/31/14:

"Eventually we will offer a MK5 FSI 450T complete turbo kit but that probably won't happen until later in 2015"

Everything is still on schedule, no setbacks at all.

Question to IE, and or other out there..

Why not build a kit around the efr6758 turbo? I think it would be cheaper and just as efficient? Be better option then K04

Great question, and we very well might in the end. We have built the kit to work with a couple different EFR turbos, and that is one of the last items to check off the list. The final turbo is not completely set in stone. The 6758 would be perfect for the 450 kit, however for customers with built short blocks and our in the works LPFP solution they may want to take advantage of a larger turbocharger with more power capability such as the 7163. However, even our larger frame turbo is spooling quicker than we anticipated.

somebody must have forgotten to tell you that big turbo kits run on hopes and dreams, not your fairytale tunes.

I'm very sorry if we have wronged you in some way, please feel free to message me or email me (tyler@perfomancebyie.com) if you have an issue, or if I can help you in any way.

gotcha..So, cant be all THAT difficult, if someone was able to do this themselves and tune it using Maestro."

Very much so, believe me... software for the MK6 is in no way what is holding back the release of the TSI version of our EFR kit. It takes a very long time to mass-produce all the individual pieces of hardware.

Very nice reply!!

What about just split development for the essentially two(2) different car platforms.

The mk6 GTI, GLI, EOS, ETC

and another turbo kit for the Golf R

That way, two different turbo kits (Smaller efr6758) and seperate tune to deal with...

and then another kit using similar hardware but different turbo, say eft7163 for the Golf R platform. Then a separate tune for that set of hardware.

Then for the folks that have built internals and want to go WILD out, use the Golf R turbo kit (larger turbo) and then a custom tune for the kit on the mk6 platform cars?

Just my way of logical thinking and efficient way to process all this to get items to mainstream.. split the work load of testing :)

Its all very possible, I know our engineers are very close to choosing (if they have not already) the final turbo. They may even offer different turbo options at some point. Either way, larger or smaller... they make incredible power, and the spool-up especially fast for the size of these things, it is nothing short of spectacular. No one will be disappointed either way. The spool characteristics seen in EFR T3 flanged turbos are not the same as the divided T4 housings, the T4 is more efficient. That is why we designed our manifold solely around the EFR T4 turbos, despite the large size of that turbo and the limited space.

nobody wronged me, i was just bored. everything is answered in your thread so it's funny to me when people keep asking for updates. reminds me of the "updated apr stage 1 tune" thread.

Id like to see some physical hardware shots of the EFR tubo on the EA888 motor :)

I like looking at pictures. /carporn

As GlowstickNinja21 mentioned earlier, we did take the IE Golf R 450T development car along with the IE tuned Stage 2 MK6 GTI on a 4 day, 2100 mile round trip that took the car through desert, mountain, sea level, and a variety of weather conditions. The demanding travel log was designed to test the reliability and performance of the hardware and software in any condition. The IE 450T big turbo kit effortlessly passed the test and put a huge smile on the face of anyone behind the wheel.

Here is a photo I took of it in Las Vegas:

And in Lake Tahoe:

One more in the Muir Woods outside of San Francisco:

We also got to stop in and see a few of our performance dealers during the trip, here is a very neat write-up our friends at Eurotek Tuning from Las Vegas put together after we handed them the keys: INTEGRATED ENGINEERING VISITS EUROTEK TUNING IN VEGAS

gotcha..

Well, there is someone on youtube, also think he is a member on here running the efr6758 with Maestro tune.... its on a 2010 or 2011 GTI, 355+ WHP

Has a custom or pre-built ETS style exhaust manfold with this turbo, not sure of other specifics

So, cant be all THAT difficult, if someone was able to do this themselves and tune it using Maestro.

UPDATE.. member "zhijjawi10"
iirc he made 443whp with that turbo + meth + a t25 tubular manifold.

my goodness... Going to see if I can find his build list.

What about customers in Europe? Will we be able to get this kit to? How will the sw be flashed to the ECU? Do you provide a "end user" flash tool?

I am driving a Audi A3 SportBack 2009 2.0TSI DSG quattro equipped with the TSI engine. Will you be offering a kit for quattro cars with the TSI engine? (like the Golf R)

Last question. What are you doing with cars equipped with DSG? Are you going to offer DSG tuning to?

Sorry for all my questions.
Hope you can check/tic my boxes

We need to verify fitment on right hand drive vehicles first, but for all other it will work just fine and we have a flash loader that should be available with the kit making the software delivery easy. DSG tunes will be a future option as well.

Pretty sure all of Europe with the exception of the UK are LHD, given there are a few Australian owners looking at the IE kit please explore the RHD fitment.
