A pillar cover not flush what to do?

Hey guys,
I purchased my gti in August of 2014 and just noticed that the A pillar cover for the driver's side is not securing properly. It simply does not reach to latch into its designated place. So my question is has anyone else encountered this problem? and if warranty would honor a replacement cover. I've tried pushing it to latch in place to no avail.

I can't help you with warranty info but I can tell you how to adjust it a bit.

If you "very gently" remove the airbag badge on the A-pillar and remove the torx screw from behind it. It should allow you enough play/wiggle room to move that A-pillar piece around. If you need to remove the whole piece, it is held in place by I believe 3 spots (almost screw heads) that slide into a channel. Pull the A-pillar up towards the roof of the car. It will take a little messing with but will allow you to reset the whole piece if needed. Repeat steps in reverse and you're done. Hope this helps!
