Digging this up. I get this code every time Im at the drag strip. It seems to happen due to using my UM launch control. It has happened every single time Ive been at the strip since I modded my engine. It turns itself off after 3 or 4 restarts of the engine and doesn't come back. It hasn't seemed to effect anything, the car doesn't go into limp mode or feel down on power. No other codes have thrown at the same time. Sorry thats not really any helpful info!

That means your steering position sensor is out of range at some point. So it is either showing Full voltage or No voltage (both, if i remember correctly, will give an implausible signal) and the intermittent means simply that it isn't a constant error.
