Rattling noise at high speeds under the driver side

Hi guys,

First of all I'm happy that I have joined this forum

I just got a 2011 GTI Autobahn with 10k miles on it. Everything appears to be working fine except the rattling sound that I'm hearing at highway speeds coming from somewhere around the footrest pedal. I've attached a crappy video to demonstrate the noise:

Any idea what the source is or how I can troubleshoot it? (yeah I'm a computer guy)

Maybe one of the panels underneath the car is loose and rattling around at higher speeds.
