Mk6 Golf R - Armrest button???

There is an opening to the right of the E brake. What is this? Looks like a button of some sort.

I want to convert that spot to a 12v socket, trying to find a DIY for wiring.

Just tap into the OEM socket in front of the shifter. The red/black wire on the OEM plug is hot, the brown wire is ground.
