So, this is listed as TT-S, no mention of RS.

This would be an upgrade to the Golf R BMC, correct?

The golf R mk6 uses this part I believe:

1K1614019K

Which is the smaller cylinder marked with a "22"

Haha I think we are spinning our wheels here ...

I am looking to upgrade FROM the Golf R BMC to a Audi TTS BMC that supports the size of the 18z.

SO, I am moving from part #1K1614019K (Golf R) to #8J1611021E (Audi TTS)

Haha I think this is getting more confusing than it needs to be. Am I in the incorrect thread? I am guessing I am missing something ..

The 25.4mm master cylinder 8J1611021E was found on MK2 USDM A3 3.2's and TT 3.2's, TTS's and the TTRS.

YW!! No problem man, I spent a lot of time looking for the correct master cylinder. I got lucky and found one that was listed under the C version instead of E and it turned out to be the E version we need.

Just be aware that sometimes the compatibility list is not 100% accurate, make sure you get the 25 mm bore MC, here is a complete description on the part you mentioned:

Can anyone detail what they did to modify the GTI fluid tank to fit the 25.4mm master cylinder?

Do you just need to drill out the holes in the tabs to accept the larger bolt/stud?

Edit: For those that installed a new MC, did you bench bleed it before installing it? I have a Motive power bleeder that I plan to use.

Mine came with the res, but from what I read, you only have to drill the hole bigger to fit the larger bolt.

Thanks!

How did you bleed it, I can bench bleed mine but I think it will just be a mess and a hassle. Not sure if the power bleeder can do it alone.
