Question 2012 GTI Sunroof Problems

My sunroof just decided to stop opening. The motor works, and you can hear it prop up to open but then it just goes back down and wont slide all the way open. I have tried to open it partially as well as completely and it just doesn't want to go.

Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it?

I had the same issue with my 2011 GTI. As I recall, instead of turning the dial to open it, you actually tilt the dial to override. I did that and it started working again. No further problems for the past couple of years.
