What a pain though, they look fantastic on your car too!

If you decide to put your old ones back on, or get a set of OEM tails, I would be interested in the LED's

I know. Should have just shelled out the extra cash!! Oh well. Hoping there is a fix for them.

Hah maybe, unlikely that I will change them as I do love them to bits, but just maybe!

Going to contact the seller today and then go and get my car recoded to normal, as its currently running as a Scirocco

So got the tyres off the wheels, and going to start the rebuild this week. Plan to at least have them split and some of the dishes tidied up! Then have the centres sent off asap for a new colour

Think they are going to look gooood!

Cheers.

So spent my whole morning splitting down the wheels.

Here are the specs:

RH ZW3 17"
Standard they would be
17"x8J et55 fronts
17"x8.5J et 48 rears

But they have bigger dishes on each making them
17"x9.5J fronts et? (2.5" dish)
17"x10J rears et? (3" dish)

On splitting them I also found that some clown must have assembled them as there was a large dish on one of the et55 barrels and one on one of the et48 barrels. And then a small dish on one of the et55 barrels and one on one of the et48 barrels. So the car they were on surely sat a bit off?

Anyway here are the pics, the centres will be getting done professionally and I am going to tackle cleaning up the dishes and the bolts.

Cheers.

Purchased this today:

ECS Tuning Hatch Pop Kit

Video

Looks good, and can't wait to get it fitted.

Also plan to start sanding my lips soon. Went to my local motor factors and they didn't have much in the way of sandpaper so going to order some sheets of 2000 and 2500 grit and make a start as soon as it comes.

Cheers.

RCD510 just arrived. All installed and working well. Only thing to point out is that the removal of the hands free kit has left a bit of a panel gap, and a few of the clips were broken when I removed the face around the radio. So may need to replace that in the future. Also needs a good clean down!

USB to be fitted at a later stage (hasn't arrived yet).

Cheers.

Cheers guys, dead happy with the progress so far. Not too much has really happened but when the wheels are done I will start to think about lowering her. Also need to start on some engine stuff. Not much but definitely exhaust, intake and remap.

Of course this comes the day after the radio fit...

USB port, allows full iPod connection to the RCD510 since the media in wasn't working after changing up to the RCD510, had heard about these problems before, so this was a handy fix.

Broke another clip on the radio surround. Gonna have to replace it. Anyone any idea of the part number or price from VW?

Cheers.

Making good progress mate, touchscreen makes such a massive difference to the interior of these cars. After a RNS510 myself but struggling to justify 800 + for a decent one!

800 sounds high, unless you are wanting one with a DAB radio?

I sold my nearly new version P recently with V10 maps included for 430 and that was on eBay. People on the various forums thought it was too expensive (I'm guessing that as it didn't sell), hence the auction sale.

Yeh I'm looking to get a 2014 version with DAB. Apparently the older versions were very slow? Might give DAB a miss though, don't want a big beesting antenna or one that sticks on the windscreen, so may just get a standard one.

Mine was a 2013 Version P, so far from slow

Get yourself an RCD510 instead. A 6 CD changer and to my ears better sound quality too. They can be picked up easily for under 200 used, a little more if you want the DAB version.

You are right about the DAB aerial, although you can get ones that stick on your windscreen.
