Oh wow. There was a video I saw a while ago where a GTI was off roading. It did a lot better than I thought it would.

I did off-roading when I was lifted. So much fun! And especially in tall snow, with Subaru’s getting stuck when trying to follow

I didn't actually go off roading though, haven't driven it all week actually. My brother was doing some landscaping at my moms and somehow all that got on there. I think he was just mad my car will be faster than his corvette soon.

Yesterday I changed DSG fluid, cleaned and reoiled the APR CAI, and changed the oil. USPS delivered the spark plugs while I was working on it, so I got those swapped out too.

I so do not have a good setup for a car guy.

Replaced the rear hatch struts.
Thanks goes out to Das Parts in Cambridge .
$20.00 for the pair. Used but they work perfectly 👍

VW wanted $92.00 per strut!!!

Changed the oil. Castrol Edge "European Formula" (0W-40 that meets VW 502 00).

I had been using Liqui Moly Synthoil Premium, but that actually decreased MPG and smoothness a little bit compared to the mystery oil was in the car when I bought it. I'll see how Castrol compares. It is pretty close to OE, after all.

Finally got my oil filter off. Found out that that when you mess up the threads a bit with channel locks they get sharp as fuck. Sliced my thumb open a bit when unthreading it and didn't notice until I saw blood on the paper towel I was using to clean up some oil.
