Switching from APR to Stratified

Currently APR stg 2 and just got tired of the jerkiness and fluctuating boost so I pulled the trigger and bought an AP from Stratified with their flash. I'm wondering if anyone has experience switching from one tuner to a Cobb AP? The instructions make it sound like the AP will copy your current ECU flash (in my case APR stg 2.4) so that you can flash back to "stock". My question is will the AP keep my APR flash or will it delete it and act like I have no stock flash? Do I need to go to the dealer and get reflashed by VW to true stock?

It won't save your apr tune and it will flash you back to the previous stock tune, was what I was told.

Correct. You will lose your APR tune and be flashed to a stock like file. Make sure your battery is in good health or hooked up to a tender. The initial flash runs the fans on high and takes a toll on the battery.

Also if worried, you can go back to stock mode via cruise control toggle if you opted for that option before hooking up your cobb access port.
