Mk VI coolant temp sensor location access

So I have these 2 codes pop up P0118 and P2181

The first is a cooling temp sensor 1 circuit high and the other is cooling system performance.

Is it possible to replace the coolant sensor that is buried underneath the intake manifold without removing the intake? I took a bunch of coolant hoses and the air intake hose out of the way and can see it, but it's in such a tight spot I don't know if I can even see the clip. I'll probably remove the throttle body tomorrow and hopefully gain better access.

Has anyone tackled this one yet?

BTW, the symptoms are with the car fully warmed up the sensor just floats around, sometimes quickly drops and stays on zero, then back up to 190 for a while, then whereever it wants to go.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Angry

Ok, never mind, I put in a new sensor and everything is peachy again. It wasn't easy but I did it without removing the intake.
