Only reason I'd switch is if they come out with an e85 map

I'm excited as heck for this! I had an AP on my old Cooper S and it was convenient as hell. I'll for sure switch to COBB and the AP IF its worth it.

GIAC already has a blend map
Problem is out stock fueling can't handle the flow needed for full e85. You have to do a lot. Trust me. |

I'd switch to any tuner who could figure out how to have an integrated ethanol sensor and variable maps.
....pipe dreams.

Keep in mind with Cobb you can literally go to any tuner that knows Cobb's tuning suite (which is every tuner in the US worth his weight in salt) and just ask them to do an E30 tune. Easy as that.

I think price point will be big with this. I would assume there's some decent cost associated with the R&D of breaking our ECUs, especially since Cobb hasn't really worked with VWs before. If it's in the $500 range for the AP and open list of files, it might be worth it for a lot of people to switch rather than paying the upgrade fees for a current tuner.
For example, it's going to cost me $170 for my Revo switcher, and $50 for the Stage 2 upgrade. At $500, I can just swap to Cobb and be able to have more control over my tunes as well as the ability to go K04 at will. Might be worth it for a couple hundred bucks.

This could be a game changer for VW tuning. The Cobb AP is really, really cool. Might make the other tuners lower prices to compete.

I think COBB is too late to the game for it to be a real "game changer."
I am fully aware of what a nice piece of equipment it is but the real issue is that SOO many of us are already tuned... the ones who are not wont ever be or have already bought a mk7. The few of us that will change over will be happy but i just dont there will be many of "us."
