Cleaning Engine Parts

Has anyone done this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fi-g00LzNm0 or have other suggestions to minimize elbow grease method?

no time to watch the video but Ive yielded great results at taking off the surface oxidation on the bare aluminum parts with copper brushes, and of course some toothbrushes and engine degreasers.
