In order to provide information to members of the forum, I plan to create a post for each mod, with as much information as possible, including pictures, instructions and links where I got the parts from etc.


Here is a list of mods done:
- Stickers for the 4 unused buttons beside the ESP button. (See post #7)
- List of Vag-Com mods (ordered micro-can) (See post #8)
- Engine Cover Paint Job (See post #9)
- LED interior lighting, trunk.( See post #11 )
- Stage 1 Carbonio Intake. ( See post #22)
- GTI Seat Inserts (See post#26)
- Escort 9500ci Radar Detector / Laser Defence System.(See Post #27)
- Auto-Dimming Mirror with Laser Screen Built In.(See Post #27)
-Rearview Camera (See Post #28)
-Stage 1 ECU Upgrade (See post #33)

- AWE Turbo Outlet Pipe

I Just ordered by vehicle and put down a deposit! I am waiting for it come from factory. Estimated deliver is Feb 14-19! Here is what I am getting;

Leather Luxury Package
Technology Package
18" Detroits

I told them not to drill the front bumper and not to put a dealer sticker on.

I can not wait! It is going to be a slow 2-3 weeks!

Congrats man!! I should have told them not to drill in my front bumper too lol since I don't need a lisence plate for the front in Indiana(bought from IL). But I would love to see your pics of when you start modding your car. Hopefully when you do get it the tune for 2011 gti's will already be out. I'm planning on going with an apr stage 1 tune and intake when the tune is released then go stage 2 after I buy the downpipe. :)

Might want to remind them a few times about not drilling for the front plates... Better off to be a pain in their ass than to get stuck with holes.


2-3 weeks sounds painful... good luck! :p

Just as I posted this, I got an email! Car is here, I will drive to the dealership on the weekend to get it! Can not wait!

MOD VAG-COM

I bought the Micro-Can cable.. Here is what I have done:

1- Instrument Staging
2- No horn when car is locked
3- Cornering Fog Lights
4- Fog lights as DRL
5- Windows open/close via remote
6- Taillights flash when ABS is activated

I tried to do the heated seat memory but it did not work...

MOD Battery Box + Engine Cover Paint

I painted both these pieces i about 3 hours. You can also see the paint I used, I got it from Canadian Tire. I havent put them on yet so I can not post pics of the engine bay yet...

MOD Interior LED Lighting

This was a pretty easy/cheap MOD, took me only 30 minutes. I bought the LED bulbs for about $30 from superbrightleds.com

here are the parts I ordered.

8 | WLED-x5: 5 LED Wide Angle Wedge Base Bulb| $ 3.94 |
WLED-CW5: Cool White 0.95
------------------------------------------------------------
1 | 4410-x9: 9 LED Festoon bulb | $ 4.74 |
4410-CW9: Cool White 2.25
------------------------------------------------------------

8 Bulbs for:
Front & Back Dome
Footwell
Glove Compartment

1 Bulb for Trunk


And NO BULB OUT ERRORS!
