Ready to race!
Stationary Right Cornering Lamps aren't installed in the Golf, so it looks like the 09 coding is messed up. You may have a bulb check issue beyond any "cold lamp diagnosis" coding tweaks if they aren't resistor style bulbs.

Please edit that to include the complete module ID, or better yet, post the complete Auto-Scan. If you have the original coding please include it.

thanks for helping is the full scan

Byte 14, Bit 6 looks like the problem in the 09 module. It looks like stationary cornering lights (like the Tiguan / Passat would have) are enabled. Please copy and paste this coding in, and watch the space the forum font slips in:

6D180A3F80272A040088008165000904404C0086534D8D60648020200040

Do you have the overhead roof telephone button console installed? I don't think so based on the CA market, so try coding the 77 module to: 0A00000000010110

NEVERMIND! This work like a charm! thanks alot ! Error code gone for the cornering light!! :happyanim: is there anyway to get ride of the parking light error code since i bought some bulb that throught codes. Or changing the bulb would be the only way? Thanks again !!

Good deal! The 30 Byte coding strings (60 digits) end up with a space between bytes 24 and 25. So, pasting that in would result in an error. I should have been more specific ;-)

I doubt the parking light fault code can be fixed with coding. This is in Byte 18 and please read up on that byte before making any changes! I have this linked from the Mk6 Vortex sticky in my sig:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...s...-(MK6)&p=67300665&viewfull=1#post67300665

Also look at the LED tail retrofit thread, which discusses Byte 18, you will find in the "Retrofits" links.

That BCM you have is the newest SWL and even the comfort turn signals seem to be fussy when altering the number of flashes. I would look for special cheater bulbs.

Yea ! I pasted it and it didn't work and I realized that little spacing.

Alright going to look throught the link. If i save the Coding that i have now for back up and if anything wrong after I will just have to put this code back and it will come back to now right?

Hey Dana, do you know if there is any visible difference in steering coding between cars equipped with the DCC suspension and non-DCC cars?

Well, you can save the coding I modified and paste it in to restore defaults, BUT this does not apply to Byte 18. Meaning, once you have changed the Byte from Hex value from the "00" shown to any other value, simply pasting the original coding back in will not restore the exterior lighting scheme.

All of the other Bytes (29 in this case) are okay and will restore to the proper function / settings.

Please check those links out before you end up with a weekend of Byte 18 coding and experimenting. If you have already tweaked it, 03 should restore the lighting as mentioned in the VW Vortex post on a US/CA Golf.

Hey Dana, do you know if there is any visible difference in steering coding between cars equipped with the DCC suspension and non-DCC cars?

Most of the 44-Steering Assist modules do not support coding. Do you have a scan from the car in question, or scan from a vehicle with Address 14: Susp. Elect. (J250) / Adaptive Chassis Control factory installed?

If you were referring to the address 16-Steering wheel module, I would say probably not to the coding. Some of the 2010 and newer cars use UDS modules, and they use a completely different coding chart.

I have a scan from a US-spec GTI, but these do not come with ACC installed so that's an issue... I am trying to determine whether or not extra coding is needed because supposedly the ACC will change the steering assist ratio.

Guess I need to find a Euro-spec vehicle with DCC installed and have them do an Auto-scan.

Hi Dana. Maybe you could help me. I got a 2010 1.4TSI comfortline (midline) and i see that the highline models's MFD has a nice big display of the car doors when opend and also access to the comfort settings menu, etc. Will it be possible to enable those features on mine with some nice software tweaks ?:drool:

If you get a scan, I think we'll find several control modules are different part numbers, and I think the actual rack will be different.

That would require a new cluster at the least. Mr.Timewise (he's on several VW forums with that UN) has retrofitted a new MFA/MFD cluster to his 2010 US Jetta with the SWCM and Passat steering wheel. To the best of my knowledge, he has not upgraded the BCM yet, but all MFA related options are working as if it was factory equipped.

The Cluster was ordered new and installed at a VW dealer due to the nature of the Immo. system. FWIW, he has upgraded to the RNS-510 and 9W7 telephone unit and they also work properly.

The Cluster was ordered new and installed at a VW dealer due to the nature of the Immo. system. FWIW, he has upgraded to the RNS-510 and 9W7 telephone unit and they also work properly.

ok thanks for the reply. sorry im a newbie and have no idea what the BCM is ?

No Problem, check this out:

This module has 3 names at this point in time, BCM, J519 and Central electronics The Acronym and Component identifiers are AKA:

* BCM = Body Control Module

Note; US market domestic vehicles (i.e. GM, Chrysler) have used this acronym for years, but VW/Audi started around 2009.

Generally this is one module that controls body related components. The Mk6 chassis VW (and several Seat, Skoda, and Audi A3 for example) don't use a 46-Comfort System anymore, it is integral with the BCM. Additionally, 2010 US VWs with TPMS also have 65-TPMS incorporated into this module. In 2011 the US vehicles went to the RoW style of ABS system for TPMS, cutting the cost of sensors in each wheel.

* J519 = Is the standard terminology for Central electronics. This applies to all VW family products and you will see that in wiring diagrams and repair data.

* Address 09-Cent. Elect. is the diagnostic address for a scan tool.

So, this can be confusing and all 3 of the above are the same thing ;)

Oh need to be careful than!
