I purchased a black 2013 GTI Driver's Edition 4 door with 144 miles on September 28th. It looks like it had been sitting on the lot for between 90 and 120 days from the documentation that the dealer left in the car. I'm fairly sure they gave me a good deal because they didn't want to pay Texas property taxes for unsold inventory at the end of the fiscal year (Oct 1st).
I paid $27,000 and the trade in was valued at $11,500 so 15,500 out the door with tax/title/license. When you subtract title, license, and Texas's 6.25% sales tax that works out to $25,959.50. In addition, the car came with the carpeted mats, all-weather mats, Cargo blocks, and window tint. About $923 of extras on the invoice. I'm happy, I think it was a good deal.
