Thank you for making this one of our all time best seller!

These are a fun product you will use everyday! Choose a different color for each footwell.
Switch colors for holidays, or simply choose your favorite color.

The product page for the color changing footwells says "With ALL LEDs installed in the MK6 GTI Models, we suggest shutting off your LED footwells while you are driving, when you accelerate, high volts of electricity are sent to your footwells which can cause the resistors to fail."

Has anyone experienced this issue? I'd like to buy these but I don't see the point if I can't have them turned on 99% of the time I'm in the car.

While I can't specifically comment on the color changing LED's, I did have a non-changing deAutoKey footwell LED crap out after a few months. deAutoKey promptly sent me TWO new ones for free under their lifetime warranty. You may have to pay the price of shipping to send the damaged LED back, but you can drive WOT all the time with them on, confident in the fact that deAutoKey will send you a new one if you have a problem.

For the single color ones we suggest it but people normally do not, we have had footwell LEDs installed in cars for 3-4 years and they drive with them on all the time with no issues, we did see some issues because when you accelerate it sends high voltage to the bulbs.

The few months is not common either, how long have you had them installed now with no issues?

But with the color changing footwells there is no issues, it was suppose to be removed from the listing.

We had people with these for a few years now with no issues and they also drive with these on 24/7 so you can have them on at all times, you won't have any issues.

Is the MK6/7 GTI the only car that offer the footwells to stay on when you are driving, as I don't recall seeing it in any other cars.
