Nah, South Charlotte had the exact car I wanted so I went straight to them. I HATE dealing with car salesmen so I try to do everything over the phone if I can. I haven't heard much about Keffer though. Maybe play them against each other and see what kind of deal you can work? In all honesty, the chick I worked with at S. Charlotte was very good and it was actually a pleasurable experience.......if there is one at the stealership!

I just moved to Wilmington,NC from Florida and am itching to get a GTI. Anyone have experience with any local dealers?

I see there is a Bob King VW right around the corner from where I'm temporarily staying...

New GTI owner here. 2-Door CS MT. Look for me around the fairgrounds and possibly at BFI's oktoberfest event in a few weeks. Had it 24 hours, already in love.

Hey all just stopping in to say hey. I live in Greensboro, NC

I made the leap and got a new 2012 6-spd GTI last month. Having owned a WRX, Civic Si, SE V6 Altima, SS Silverado and a 5-spd BMW 525, I have to say that the GTI is everything I've read about and more. What a wonderful car. I'm looking forward to reading, browsing and posting to this great looking site.

I can't wait to start tinkering to my GTi. Last turbo-4 I owned I did quite of bit of tinkering and ended up with a WRX that had 400whp and ran 12.4 in the 1/4 mile.

Finally picked up my GTI. Had to drive to Spartanburg, SC from NW Charlotte. Very happy with the experience at Vic Bailey VW. Ben Owen our salesguy was great and very knowledgeable!!

i did not unfortunately. i will keep you updated if i find someone though. do you know if the dealer can do it?

Jacksonville, NC meets are now at the Jacksonville Mall. We meet every Wednesday and Friday behind the IHOP, starting about 7PM. I can only make Friday nights, but there is a group that meets on Wednesdays. I almost always have my VCDS with me.

We will also have our bi-monthly National VW Meet on the 10th, from 11am to whenever (2 or 3 ish??). I know that is the same day as the Show and Shine in Cary, but our date was set before theirs was announced. If you don't want to drive all the way up to Cary, stop by National VW in Jacksonville and say Hi.
